History and background of Deutz Fahr
Deutz-Fahr is a German agricultural equipment manufacturer which belongs now to the Same Deutz-Fahr group. It has a long and rich history which tracks back to the 19th century when Deutz and Fahr were founded (1864 and 1870 accordingly). Deutz was initially an engine manufacturer founded by Nikolaus Otto, the inventor of the four-stroke internal combustion engine. Fahr started as a trade company to become later a tractor manufacturer. Deutz (as Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG) purchased Fahr in 1970. Tractors with a new brand name – Deutz-Fahr – came onto the market in 1981.
